I cannot hide my disappointment with Hillary’s loss. The women electorate let her down. Obama had 70 million female voters or so. A lot can happen after four years. Using this chance to make history was all Americans had to do and they failed big time! I will keep insults off my blog but at this point, I just want to spit venom for eight straight days. It’s done and I painfully accept defeat.

Back to business, when I started my fitness journey, I came across some terms that I had to Google. I do not want to put my new readers in a position where they have to pause and check the meanings of my lingo. I have taken the liberty to elaborate some of these words as we begin so that you have a near-smooth sail as we progress.

Workout:The rigorous process of exercising to get one’s dream body. By exercise I mean any form of cardio and toning exercises such as squats and crunches.

Cardio– Exercises that increase the heart rate. Can involve running, dancing, jogging, rope skipping, swimming etc.

Fitspo –Fitness inspiration

Fitspiration –Fitness inspiration

Carbs- Carbohydrates

GlutesGluteus Maximus (The muscle group within the butt region, if feel like saying buttocks sounds so shady so glutes is just as good and so decent.)

LatsLatissmus dorsi(The muscle group within your back region)

PecsPectoralis major (The muscle group below the neck region, found on either shoulder. I will attach a picture on the Know your muscles post because describing it in writing is only for Bikozulu, okay?

Traps – Trapezius (The muscle group below the neck region. Can we just agree that a picture will do in my next post?)

Abs – Abdominal muscles (Dear abs, you are my long term goal. I will find you.)

The core– Muscles around the abdominal region. Within the ‘center’ of the body. It includes abs, obliques and lats.

Veggies/Veges – Vegetables

Vegan –A person who feeds solely on plant products. I have a lot of respect for this people who can stay away from chicken. Seriously, how now?

Lean (For meat) – Meat that contains little or no traces of fat

Starch– Starch is just starch abeg. My metabolism lecturer would call it a polysaccharide though.

Muscle:Body meat. When I tell someone I want more muscle, they immediately think the gigantic biceps on body builders. No people, I just want to shade the fat and replace it with some lean meat hence the increased protein intake.I am not looking to be skinny. There is a reason proteins are called body-building foods.Do you get the irony?

Instafit: A person, who has met all their body goals, is incredibly fit and not afraid to showcase it on instagram. Can I clarify that skinny is not necessarily fit. You can be thick and fit too.

Any more fitness words you have? I am here to learn too. Feel free to comment.

Love and love,

Nattie.
