Happy New Month!

Science week is back and I am so happy to share some valuable information. To begin with, an ideal weight loss journey should be characterized with a diet that is low in carbohydrates (carbs) and extremely low in fat as well.I will explain why in my next post. For today, proteins are an essential part of weight-loss because they are body building foods. They generate more muscle as opposed to fat and are therefore essential in fat loss. So, which proteins should you be taking?

Skinless Chicken

The skin is a source of cholesterol (unhealthy fat) that is why it is excluded so you can get lean protein. Poultry is a source of selenium which an antioxidant that also boosts your immune system. The lean protein is required in development of muscle. Chicken is also a good source of serotonin which helps to reduce stress and puts you to sleep. How cute?

Lean Meat

Lean meat is low in fat which is essential in weight loss. It is also a source of lean protein that is necessary for muscle growth and development.

Nuts

Most nuts contain fibre and lean protein. They have the ability to keep you full for long periods which helps you avoid binge eating that increases weight. Nuts are sources of healthy fats which the body requires for growth. They are also a source of long- lasting energy since they are digested slowly and released to the bloodstream (low glycemic index).

Fish

Very low in calories and unhealthy fats and high in lean protein. They are also rich in omega 3 fatty acids which reduce risk of heart disease and are key memory boosters.

Yoghurt

There are two types. I do not know whether to advocate for natural or processed ,regardless, they are a great source of protein and have less calories. I prefer fat- free yoghurt myself. For yeast infections such as Candida albicans to keep away, you should take your yoghurt which is loaded with live culture. Yoghurt also contains numerous vitamins that boost your immune system.
