Healthy vs. Unhealthy Fat

Science week comes to an end.I learned so much myself ,so informative!

So:

Healthy Fats (Unsaturated)

Healthy fats are of little or no harm to the body. Some of them are great sources of antioxidants such as Vitamin E.They do not pose risk of cardiovascular diseases.

So which are the healthy fats?

  • Monounsaturated fats

I will not go to detail but some sources of monounsaturated fats are peanuts, avocado and vegetable cooking oils such as olive and sunflower.

  • Polyunsaturated fats (Omega-3 & Omega-6)

Omega-6 sources include fish, sesame seeds and sunflower. Sources of Omega-3 include oily fish such as tuna, salmon and sardines.

Unhealthy Fats (Saturated)

Unhealthy fats pose risk of cardiovascular diseases by raising blood cholesterol levels. This may lead to complications such as clogging of blood vessels. Fast foods such as potato fries, fried chicken and red meat contain large amounts of unhealthy fats.

I hope the information was helpful.I don’t do long science posts because I do not like long posts myself. There is more detail on Wikipedia.Forgive my manners,I just think long posts are boring and if I can get the message out there in a few words, the better!

See you tomorrow, we won’t have Courage Stories but I have something that will make you laugh.. or cry. Keep it Malkia Teezie.
